Over the years there is one particular place where many Isuzus – especially the FJ 8x4s have found a home.

It’s BGC, undoubtedly WA’s most significant mover and shaker in the building industry.

The BGC Concrete Division’s Production Manager, Tony Mato said the company has had Isuzus in its fleet since 1999.

They comprise a large proportion of the company’s 120 trucks.

‘Over the last 22 years the Isuzu range has proven to be a reliable work horse. The nature of the concrete industry is that we certainly put them to the test, he said.

‘Firstly, our operators are happy driving them and over the years because they do what we need them to do, we’ve purchased the new models virtually as they have hit the market’.

Tony said that Isuzu’s decision to release the FJ 8 x 4 model was timed well as BGC had shifted its fleet requirements to this size.

The concrete industry is one industry that really does require a truck that cannot just carry a seriously hefty load, but be able to deliver to building sites that are far from being conducive to being ‘gentle’ on a truck.

‘Our fleet has recently been bolstered with an additional eight FJ 8x4s and we have another six on order…so you could conclude that this factor alone is a definite testimony to our faith in the Isuzu brand and the relationship we have with Major Motors’, Tony said.

The key point for BGC is that reliability is essential for meeting client demand.

The building industry is one industry where failure to deliver on time is unforgiveable.

Tony added that he has dealt with Ron Proberts and Singh at Major’s Malaga Branch for close to 20 years.

‘Their ‘can do’ attitude and understanding of our demands has certainly helped us to achieve our goals - their customer focus and personal touch when it comes to our fleet is something we appreciate,” he said.
